Junior Mini-Master Builder Classes (Ages 7-10) - The Class Structure

Picture
Classes consist of 14-20 students and one or two instructors.

Our Junior Mini-Master Builders classes are designed as drop-off classes. Parents are expected to leave students at our classroom where they will attend class for 1 hr 45 min - 2 hours. Parents can then arrive to pick students back up after the class time has ended (or during the build portion of class if a student needs to leave early that day). We do not have sufficient space for parents to stay on-site during classes.

Parents who wish to participate in class with their student should look into our Co-Op / Partnership classes.

A Note about Students with Physical / Learning Disabilities, Neurodivergence, etc.

For students who would not able able to attend a drop-off class because they need to have a parent/guardian or AID present, we do have separate classes available. Since developing our first classes and camps we've received MANY inquiries from parents about students who require extra assistance or who would better thrive in an environment where their parent or guardian (or a support person, such as an AID or nurse) is able to stay and participate in the class alongside the student.

As a result of the overwhelming support for courses that could be more inclusive to students who are shy / non-verbal / or have other conditions, we have decided to hold separate classes where registration for class includes both the student and an adult, and both are expected to actively participate in the class together. These classes are being developed specifically to allow students who need extra one-on-one assistance for any reason, to fully participate in our programs, without our staff being strained or feeling pressured to take on student issues that we are not knowledgeable or properly trained to work with. By involving parents in these classes, and having students be able to receive the specific one-on-one assistance that each needs to best thrive in the class, we are able to be inclusive and welcoming to a large variety of students who might otherwise not be able to participate in our basic classes. For students who have significant disabilities, learning disorders, or personalities that need more significant assistance from their parent/guardian or students who have the assistance of a nurse or aid, our partnership classes are the way to go!

If you have specific questions about your student, and you want to know if they would do better in our drop-off classes, or if you should register for our co-op partnership based classes, please
CONTACT US BEFORE you register your student for class.
